Cargo van rentals are a great way for you to be able to haul a few things around town. A cargo van is great for smaller moving jobs as it is much easier to load and it drives just like a car. As driving a truck can be dangerous, due to its large nature and lack of rear view mirror, a hire van is the perfect alternative. When hiring some trucks you require a special drivers license but when renting a cargo van all you require is your regular drivers license. This removes the hassle and makes renting so much easier.
There are different types of vans you can hire. You can hire vans that are designed to move people. These often have between 7-15 seats for people to travel in it. The other alternative is Cargo Vans that are specifically designed for moving cargo. You will not have to look far for a great deal on renting cargo vans. A simple search in a search engine such as Google or Yahoo will bring some great results. Alternatively you can search in the yellow pages either online or from the phone book.
Make sure you have a look around at a few different rental businesses to make sure you are getting the best price. Get at least 3 quotes before choosing a rental company and look out for midweek specials or tradesmen’s discounts. All major cities should have multiple places to rent your van and so you should be able to find at least one Rental Company that is cheaper than the rest.
Driving a cargo van should be fairly simple as they are not much bigger than a large car. Just be careful to take the corners a little bit wider and to watch out behind you. If you fill the van up then you might not be able to see out the back window, so be extra careful when reversing.
When you hire a cargo rental van there are not as many options available like when you hire a car. This is because there are literally less models of cargo vans on the road. You will sometimes have a choice between a standard and a luxury cargo van. Depending on your budget you might be able to afford a luxury van, which offers extra comfort and ease.
Cargo vans can be a great option to hire as you can fit a lot more in them than you can fit in a car yet they are as easy to drive as a car.
The other option to hiring a van is to hire a truck. When all of your items will not fit in a van then a truck is a good idea, but otherwise I would always recommend a cargo van. They are much easier to load than trucks and much easier to drive. Trucks can be difficult to drive if you have never driven one before and the lack of visibility in your rear view mirror makes parking and reversing dangerous.
To hire a cargo van you do not need a special license, your current drivers license should be just fine. Just like any other car or truck rental you need to be over the age of 21 and usually you need to be over the age of 25 because of the risk of damage to the vehicle. So if you are under the age of 25 you might want to consider getting an older friend or family member to help you rent your cargo van.
When renting a cargo van make sure to check how much free mileage you have. If you are not travelling large distances this should not be a problem, but if you are doing a lot of travelling (for example travelling interstate) then you might need to hire a cargo van with more free mileage. This is because once you go over your free mileage limit you begin to pay for every mile you travel. If you are travelling a long distance this can turn into a large sum of cash.
There are literally thousands of places you can rent a cargo van all over the world. The nearest one to you should not be hard to find. A simple search on the internet or a quick look through your phone book should provide you with a variety of rental options for you to choose from.
If you are ever in the need cargo van then do not stress but know that you can always rent one with ease.
